How to choose a good .uz domain name
A good name is easy to say, remember and type. Here is what matters in the .uz zone.
Shorter is better, but short names are nearly all taken
According to registry statistics for 2 November 2026, the .uz zone has about 178,000 active domains, including 1,295 two-character and nearly 19,000 three-character names. Two- and three-character names (and, per the registry FAQ, four-character ones) go to auction after redemption, so for an ordinary registration a realistic length is 5 to 10 characters.
Letters only
A name without digits or hyphens is easier to say on the phone and to put on a sign. Hyphens and digits are often mixed up or left out.
Uzbek words in Latin script
A domain name cannot contain the ‘ sign, so o‘zbek is written ozbek. Check the other common spellings (uzbek) too, as well as transliterations from Russian: dom, avto, kredit.
Words people search for
A line of business (avto, taxi, savdo, market, med, uy), a city or region (toshkent, samarqand, fargona) or two plain words together (avtosavdo) work better than a random string of letters.
Look among dropping names
Every day, names with a history drop in .uz: they had a website, a certificate, links. Our list of dropping domains scores every name by length, dictionaries and history, and the domain check tells you at once whether a name is free.
